The University of Miami's Department of Social work (DOCS) four trainee run free centers: the Caridad Clinic in Boynton Beach, the Center for Haitian Studies (CHS) Center in Little Haiti, the IDEA DOCS Night Center in Overtown, and the San Juan Bosco (SJB) Center in Allapattah. All offer distinct opportunities for medical students to return to the community, receive mentorship from doctors, and gain experience in functioning as an important part of the healthcare group.
SJB Clinic provides care to a varied immigrant community mostly from Latin America and the Caribbean, while CHS serves citizens and Haitian immigrants in the Little Haiti community. All of our centers share the common goal of providing outstanding and thoughtful health care to the underserved. CHS Clinic takes place every Monday evening and stresses medical care.
